Gastroenterologists at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Needham provide the community with comprehensive care for digestive tract conditions. These include those affecting the esophagus (food tube), gallbladder, intestines, liver, pancreas and rectum.
Our care team takes a holistic, personalized approach. We’re always available to answer questions, help you find resources and ensure you get the attention you need. We communicate with your referring physician to keep them well-informed about your progress. We also collaborate closely with other specialists if you have a complex condition, such as cancer of the digestive tract, to ensure your care is well-coordinated.
Our highly trained, board-certified gastroenterologists offer state-of-the-art procedures to diagnose, assess and treat gastrointestinal (GI) conditions. The vast majority of these procedures are endoscopies, which use a thin, flexible tube with a light and tiny camera on the end to examine the digestive tract. Our doctors perform more than 7,500 endoscopies a year, including colonoscopies, gastroscopies and many others.
Endoscopies at BID Needham take place in our Endoscopy Unit located in the Outpatient Clinical Center on our main campus. The unit is welcoming, bright and airy, with beautiful views from every recovery room. You can rest assured that our staff will provide exceptional care and make you as comfortable as possible during your visit.
BID Needham partners with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) for patients who need colorectal (colon and rectal) surgery. Surgeries take place at BIDMC, and our team here in Needham provides expert outpatient care before and after your surgery.
