The Core Updates and Essentials in Primary Care program at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital—Needham offers fully accredited continuing medical education (CME) for primary care physicians and clinicians.
CME Course Accreditation
BID Needham is accredited by the Massachusetts Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians. This live activity is designated for a maximum of 36.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s).*
Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Please consult your state licensing board to confirm requirements for the acceptance of these credits.
An application is pending with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). The AAFP invites comments on any activity that has been approved for AAFP CME credit. The AAF welcome feedback Please email the AAFP at if you have any comments on the quality of this activity.
Additional Accreditation Information
Maintenance of Certification (MOC)
Successful completion of this CME activity — including the post-session evaluation — enables participants to earn up to 36 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) MOC program.
Participants will receive MOC points equivalent to the number of CME credits claimed. Completion data will be submitted to the ACCME by the CME provider for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses
For recertification, both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and the American Nurses Credentialing Center accept AMA PRA Category 1 Credit* issued by ACCME-accredited organizations. Participants should confirm with their state licensing board whether these credits are accepted for re-licensure.
Physician Assistants
The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)* from ACCME-accredited organizations or recognized state medical societies.
The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) also accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)* toward CME requirements for recertification. As with all professions, participants should verify acceptance with their state licensing board.
