Bariatric Surgery

If you're interested in bariatric surgery, your journey begins with an online information session or webinar that can be completed from the comfort of your home. During this session, one of our surgeons will outline what to expect from the surgery.

After the information session, you'll undergo a screening process at BID Needham to determine your eligibility for surgery. This screening typically takes three to six months, influenced by various factors such as insurance requirements and the pace at which you complete each step.

Throughout the screening process, you'll meet with various members of our team to ensure you meet the necessary criteria for surgery. For added convenience, many appointments can be conducted virtually.

While our team provides pre- and post-operative care at BID Needham, the surgery itself is performed at BID Milton, one of our system’s primary centers for bariatric surgery.  We also offer virtual support groups for both pre- and post-operative patients, providing additional resources throughout your journey.
