Nominate a Nurse for the DAISY Award

Recognition for compassionate care

The DAISY Award

At Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Needham, we honor our outstanding nurses with the DAISY Award. This is an international recognition program that celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide to patients and families every day.

The DAISY Award was created in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of an autoimmune disease. The Barnes family was impressed by the clinical skills and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick. The family created this award to say “thank you” to nurses everywhere.
